„Ecology and History of European Rivers“, Gastprofessur Dr. Didier Pont

Im laufenden Sommersemester 2017 ist Dr. Didier Pont vom National Research Institute of Science and Technology for Environment and Agriculture Gastprofessor am Institut für Soziale Ökologie. Er wird im Rahmen seines Aufenthalts das Seminar „Ecology and History of European Rivers“ abhalten. Die Lehrveranstaltung wird im Mai und Juni stattfinden. Beginn der Lehrveranstaltung ist der 31.05.2017.

Inhalte des Seminars:
• Ecological characteristics of river systems. What is specific compared to terrestrial and other aquatic ecosystems?
• Biodiversity of European fish fauna: evolution during the Holocene and historical time
• Long term changes of European river systems (case studies): a) Role of naturally and anthropogenically driven processes in the hydromorphological functioning of rivers, b) Elements for a water pollution history, c) Future trends (global change…)
• Managing and Restoring river systems: What is the role of historical ecology?
