Luis Laglera ist vom 17. – 28.

Teaching at BOKU:
Advanced analytical methods in chemical oceanography

771005 VO, 3 ECTS, May 19 - 25 2021

The lecture series is open for registration via BOKUonline.

Content:
The lectures will address basics of (chemical) oceanography, biological and physical effects on ocean chemistry and their impact on the chemical characteristics and bio-geochemical cycling of trace elements in oceanic waters. Advanced analytical methods including remote detection in oceanography will be presented. “Hot Topics” such as the solubility of oxygen and carbon dioxide and the effect on ocean acidification, nutrient depletion and eutrophication, respectively, as well as the ocean pollution, in particular by emerging pollutants such as micro plastics etc. and their consequences on the aquatic environment will be discussed.
