Intercultural competence – benefitting from intercultural teaching

This advanced training is aimed at all teachers at BOKU and can be credited within the framework of the basic certificate for university teaching for MODUL 3 "Didaktische Schwerpunkte". Objectives: - Gaining main insights about Intercultural Competence
Content: - Intercultural Competence skills & knowledge for working & teaching in an intercultural/diverse world
- benefitting from an intercultural (working/teaching) environment
- different aspects of culture and identity, differences and challenges
- reflecting on behaviour and understanding
- increasing awareness of perception and thoughts
- learning about ethnocentrism and changing perspectives

Interkulturelle Kommunikation und -Kompetenz im Hochschulkontext

Dieses Seminar richtet sich an alle Mitarbeitenden. Ziele: - neue Perspektiven und neues Verständnis für die Arbeit in interkulturellen Settings (Forschung, Lehre, Teamarbeit)
- Verständnis für die Dimensionen von interkultureller Kompetenz und Übertragung dieser auf interkulturelle Handlungskontexte
- konstruktiver Umgang mit Kulturunterschieden und mögliche kulturelle Ursachen für Missverständnisse im eigenen Arbeitsumfeld erkennen und deuten
Inhalte: - Kulturelle Identitäten und Wertesysteme verstehen und kontextualisieren
- Kommunikationsstile, Sprache und Wahrnehmung (verbal und nonverbal)
- Kulturelle Codes und kultureller Raum
- Interkulturelle Kommunikationsstrategien (online und offline)
