Danube AgriFood Master goes Erasmus Mundus


BOKU is now the Austrian university with the most Erasmus Mundus programmes, offering five distinguished and high-level EMJM degrees!

The international master programme "Sustainability in Agriculture, Food Production and Food Technology in the Danube Region" (Danube AgriFood Master – DAFM) has been selected for funding by the European Commission within the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) programme, making BOKU the leading university in Austria with a total of five distinguished and high-level EMJM programmes.

The Danube AgriFood Master (DAFM) focuses on sustainable development as competent response to the upcoming challenges of climate change and protection and promotion of livelihoods. It uses the Danube region as a model region for all riparian regions worldwide. It combines the unique expertise of the HEI consortium to provide top quality research-based education in sustainable agriculture, food security, food production and technology as core contents. It provides a solid basis in all relevant disciplines from natural sciences, engineering, economics to social sciences, offering extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary approaches and intercultural communication and promotes the idea of sustainable bioeconomy.

DAFM is jointly offered by the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU), the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), the Slovak University of Agriculture Nitra (SUA), the University of Zagreb (UNIZG), the University of Novi Sad (UNS) and the Banat‘s University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Timisoara (BUASVMT).

Application for the academic year 2022/23 is open until 15 March 2022.
