Cooperation Development Research: Great Lakes Project

The fluctuation in water levels of the Great Rift Valley Lakes in Kenya is being analysed with this project of the Technical University of Kenya and BOKU Vienna. The fluctuations, harshly affecting the livelihoods of the local communities, resulted in loss of agricultural lands and damage to the surrounding social infrastructure. By providing a database and new insights of the fluctuations, the project contributes to the development of strategies to manage this pressing issue.
