WWTF: Life Sciences Call 2023
The Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF) will open the 16th project call in its Life Science Programme on 310123. With the focus “Understanding biology with AI/ML”, this call is open to research projects that addresses a question in biology, biomedicine, or clinical sciences by applying innovative artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) methods. Research projects should span 2-4 years, and the requested funding per project may range from 400,000-800,000 Euro.
Please note that this is a two-stage call with a short- and full-proposal phase.

Upon invitation, full proposals are to be submitted by 080823. The funding decisions is expected in mid-December 2023.
An online workshop for interested applicants will be held on 161222, 10 am, at which invited speakers working at the interface of experimental biology or clinical sciences and AI/ML will share insights and experiences from their own research. No registration for this workshop is necessary.
To enable networking across research fields, the WWTF will launch a b2match networking platform in December. All applicants are encouraged to register and connect on this networking platform.
