3rd Africa-UniNet General Assembly

The 3rd Africa-UniNet General Assembly will take place from 13-15 September 2023 at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) in Vienna. Register by 30 June 2023.

The aim of the 3rd General Assembly meeting is to deepen established partnerships between institutions in Austria and countries in Africa, to further strengthen Africa-UniNet and to strategically enhance its visibility and impact. The results of Africa-UniNet projects will be presented and discussed in scientific sessions. Questions on the decolonization of knowledge and forms of cooperation between science and practice will be addressed.
 
All Africa-UniNet project partners are invited to submit abstracts for presentations and/or posters at the General Assembly meeting. Please submit your abstracts at the time of registering for the event.
 
To a limited extent, the costs for Africa-UniNet project partners from African countries can be financed by Africa-UniNet. The following requirements have to be met:

  • Oral presentation of results of the respective Africa-UniNet project during the event. An abstract of the presentation has to be submitted at the time of registering for the General Assembly. All project partners are furthermore asked to prepare a poster.
  • Only project partners from African countries can be financed.
  • Only one project partner per project can be financed.
  • Preference is given to projects of the 2nd call and to early registrations. Deadline for registration: 30 June 2023.

  • Due to limited financial means, the sponsorship is subject to availability.

 
Project partners from African countries who would like to make use of the financial support are asked to register as soon as possible and submit abstracts for the oral presentation. The Africa-UniNet Office will subsequently contact them concerning the financial support and travel organization.
 
In the event of financial support from Africa-UniNet the following costs can be covered:

  • Flight costs to and from the home institution in Africa to Vienna (economy class).
  • Accommodation costs from Tuesday, 12 September – Friday, 15 September at Motel One Hauptbahnhof in Vienna.
  • Catering will be provided during the General Assembly as outlined in the programme.
  • Unfortunately, Africa-UniNet cannot organize or reimburse any other costs, including medical insurance, visa fees, transport to and from the airport, per diems.
