Call: Nature-based Future Student Challenges

Wageningen University’s new international Nature-based Future Student Challenges might be an interesting opportunity for BOKU students!

Multidisciplinary student teams are challenged to visualise the potential of nature-based solutions to respond to the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss in the Bangladesh delta. This Challenge is inspired by the project The Netherlands in 2120 .  

The Challenge is open to BSc, MSc and PhD students worldwide, relevant study backgrounds include, a.o. Landscape architecture, Spatial planning, Forestry, (Organic) Agriculture, Nature Conservation, Environmental Sciences, Land, Water, Urban and Marine Resources Management.

It is an unique opportunity for students to boost their professional skills, learn from and network with industry leaders, and to meet and exchange ideas with students from universities worldwide. Top teams receive a participation certificate and travel & accommodation budget to attend the Grand Finals in the Netherlands. The prize for the winning team is 9000 EUR.

Challenge timeline:

  • Registration deadline: 19 November 2023
  • Start Challenge: 29 November 2023
  • First milestone: 4 February 2024
  • Second milestone: 21 April 2024
  • Grand Finals: 19 June 2024
