BOKU German intensive course

BOKU German intensive course on beginner level is especially designed for students at BOKU. This course is suited for students who have no previous knowledge of the language and comparts the basics of spoken and written German. The content focus lies on cultural aspects of studying and living in Austria.

The two-week intensive course takes place before the start of the semester (11.-22. September ) and consists of 50 course units (5 course units and 4 hours of teaching per day). The detailed timetable will be discussed in the first course unit. The course takes place if a minimum of 12 students  registered for the course.

The intensive courses in September 2023 will be held at BOKU Türkenschanze. Please register by email to sprachkurse(at)boku.ac.at. Places are limited to 15 and we accept students in class according to the date of their email registration.

In your registration email, please include the following information:

• course and course level
• your first name and family name
• home address
• exchange programme that allows you to come to BOKU

By emailing the required personal data as listed above, you declare your consent to use the data for the sole purpose of registering you for the language course. The data processing is carried out on the basis of Art 6(1a) GDPR. No share of any data received with third parties.

The intensive course costs 250 Euro. After successful registration, you will receive a confirmation and further information on payment of the course.

Students who are not German native speakers can apply at the ÖH BOKU for financial support after successful completion of their BOKU German course, if they had to pay a fee for it. Please find more info here   

Cancellation of your course participation: If you want to cancel your registration in class, please note that this is not without fee. If you cancel your registration we need to charge a 70 Euro cancellation fee.

Our German Language courses are only for BOKU students (including BOKU incomings). Course credits: 3 ECTS

ATTENTION: please note that this course is not a letter-graded course and there is no final exam. Rather, the course focuses on interactive teaching and learning and you will be credited with 3 ECTS with "participated with success" if you participate regularly and actively in class.
