Nature-based Future Challenge

Registration for the call open

In November Wageningen University & Research launches international student competition, the Nature-based Future Challenge. In this competition, inspired by the project the Netherlands in 2120, multidisciplinary student teams visualise the potential of nature-based solutions to respond to the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss in Bangladesh delta.

The Challenge is open to BSc, MSc and PhD students worldwide, relevant study backgrounds include, amongst other, Landscape architecture, Spatial planning, Forestry, (Organic)Agriculture, Nature Conservation, Environmental Sciences, Land, Water, Urban and Marine Resources Management.

It is an unique opportunity for students to boost their professional skills, learn from and network with industry leaders, and to meet and exchange ideas with students from universities worldwide. Top teams receive participation certificate and travel & accommodation budget to attend the Grand Finals in the Netherlands. The prize for the winning team is 9000 EUR.

This spring ELLS network decided to use this Challenge as a pilot for Challenge-based learning collaboration among ELLS universities. The aim is to create mixed team with students from different ELLS Universities to foster exchange between students. Participating students can apply for summer school budget to attend the events organized as part of the Challenge.
