Inge Dirmhirn Award & Scholarship at BOKU

The Equal Opportunities Working Party (AKGL) BOKU will again award the Inge Dirmhirn Award for gender- and/or diversity-specific bachelor's, master's/diploma theses and dissertations and the Inge Dirmhirn Scholarship to support a master's thesis.

Submissions are possible until 15 November 2023.

  • Inge Dirmhirn Award for gender- and/or diversity-specific Bachelor's, Master's/Diploma theses and dissertations at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna 2023.

The prize totalling € 3,000 (€ 500 each for a bachelor's thesis that has already been approved, € 1,000 for a master's/diploma thesis that has already been approved and € 1,500 for a doctoral thesis that has already been approved) is offered by the Equal Opportunities Working Party (AKGL) at BOKU and awarded to students and graduates of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.

Bachelor's, master's/diploma theses and dissertations can be submitted. The topic of the thesis must be gender- and/or diversity-specific with BOKU-relevant content. German- or English-language theses with creative approaches, which are particularly interdisciplinary in nature and stand out above the average of good research, are particularly welcome.

The award of the corresponding academic degree must have taken place in the period 1.1.2021 to 15.11.2023 (date of the award notification).

  • Inge Dirmhirn Scholarship to support a Master's thesis at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna 2023

The Equal Opportunities Working Party (AKGL) at BOKU awards the Inge Dirmhirn Scholarship in the amount of € 2,400-, to support the writing of a Master's thesis at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna.

The scholarship serves to provide financial support for a Master's thesis with the aim of being able to carry out the work in a concentrated manner. The scholarship is intended to create an incentive to carry out master's theses in the subject areas of gender and/or diversity with BOKU-relevant content. Furthermore, the scholarship is intended to promote the mobility of junior researchers.

All students admitted to a Master's programme at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna are invited to apply. The Master's thesis in German or English must have been started by 1 February 2024 at the latest and must have been positively assessed within one year.

The Inge Dirmhirn Scholarship is announced for gender- and/or diversity-specific topics with BOKU-relevant content. Submissions of work with creative approaches that are particularly interdisciplinary in nature and stand out above the average of good research are particularly welcome.
