Call for Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) partner
The Warsaw University of Life Sciences (WULS-SGGW; Poland) is preparing an application within the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Erasmus+. BIP is a quite new format of short-term intensive programmes that combine physical and virtual mobility, promote international cooperation, innovative teaching methods, and interdisciplinarity.
As part of a five-day programme hosted at SGGW, the organzing university plans workshops and activities covering, among others: biology of ageing cells, model systems for studying ageing, geriatrics and clinical research, as well as design thinking workshops addressing social and health-related challenges of ageing populations.
SGGW would like to invite partner universities to join by offering online sessions that will complement the programme. Below is a preliminary catalogue of suggested areas for contributions:
- Architecture and urban planning – age-friendly cities, accessibility of infrastructure,
- Nutrition and agriculture – healthy diets, functional food for the elderly,
- Robotics and automation – care and companion robots, support in daily activities,
- Artificial intelligence – tools supporting the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases, early fall detection systems, personalized care,
- Materials engineering – senior-friendly materials: lightweight, anti-slip, antibacterial, biocompatible.
- Sociology and psychology – ageing in society, intergenerational relations, loneliness, social activation,
- Economics and social policy – silver economy, pension systems, health and care costs,
- Informatics and new technologies – telemedicine, e-health, AI supporting seniors,
- Design and engineering – technologies and ergonomic solutions for older adults,
- Veterinary medicine and animal sciences – the role of animals in therapy and quality of life of seniors,
- Humanities and arts – representations of ageing in culture, art therapy, creative approaches,
- Biomedical engineering – design of prosthetics, implants, and assistive devices for older adults (e.g., smart canes, exoskeletons, rehabilitation robots),
- Teleinformatics and IoT – health monitoring systems for seniors at home, wearables, smart home solutions for people with reduced mobility,
This is a preliminary proposal – it is also possible to suggest other topics within the broadly understood area of ageing.
