Optimization of Teaching and Learning through Digital Media dL3 creates digital learning tools, which support a more visual and interactive presentation of legal concepts and structures for students. Moreover, dL3 aims to optimize teaching resources and the efficient employment of teaching staff for large class sizes. More individualized attention can be given to each student by using the internet and digital communication tools. In an iterative process, dL3 engages in various stages of development that range from blended learning models of traditional and digital methods such as using short video lectures; to an increasingly sophisticated use of multi-media by producing animations of legal systems with graphic motion; apps with which students can test their knowledge; and digital games, which allow students to interactively participate in the learning process. Evolution of Existing Digital Learning Tools to Provide a Better Learning Experience Commonly used learning management systems such as Moodle or Canvas are useful, but are ultimately inadequate to convey teaching materials in an engaging manner and are not able to provide a true learning experience, which hinges on the sense of being part of a community of learners. dL3 seeks to meet this need by building on existing digital platforms through content-driven applications that actively involve students in the learning process as agents of knowledge rather than mere consumers of information.
