In developing countries, the link between organic waste management and organic fertiliser production has been lost. Due to different lifestyles and availability of consumer goods compared to industrialised economies, municipal waste streams vary in developing countries. This is reflected, among other things, in a higher share of biological waste. In the project "Sustainable Landfill Gas Emission Reduction in Addis Ababa - SUGAR AA -", the Division of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning supports the establishment of a training centre in cooperation with schools and the development of a composting course as a LLL offer on site. The BOKU's Department of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning not only contributes to social responsibility, but also opens up networks for new projects.

The Department of Lifelong Learning also supported the climate protection project SUGAR AA financially.
The SUGAR AA project is a BOKU Klimaschutzprojekt.
