Tools for the soul: Practical help for depression and anxiety during your studies

Only one week left until the exam, and I haven't even covered half the material!

Why did I fail the exam again?

Will I really be able to find a suitable job with the subject I'm studying?

I still have two semesters left, but how am I supposed to afford to live next year with these prices?

Students today are increasingly confronted with these and many other questions of this kind. More and more often, students suffer from time and performance pressure, fears about the future, or financial worries—factors that can increase the risk of mental illness. Despite increasing media coverage, there is still uncertainty, prejudice, and a lack of knowledge when it comes to dealing with these issues. But what can be done? With this online event, we want to actively address this issue and invite both affected and interested students to learn more, exchange ideas, and ask questions.

Following a technical presentation with interactive elements by Mag. Nadja Springer, there will be an opportunity for open discussion: Students can ask questions to her, the disability officers (TU Wien and BOKU), and the psychologist at TU Wien.

Date: November 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (via ZOOM)

Speakers/participants:

Nadja Springer - Clinical and Health Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Dialog - Individual Addiction Treatment Clinic
Nicole Kretschy - Disability Officer, TU Vienna
Lisa Vrablicz – Clinical Psychologist, Student Support TU Vienna
Ruth Scheiber-Herzog – Disability Officer BOKU
