The current issue of LIGNOVISIONEN is a documentation of a workshop on the issue of social innovations and its impact on wood industries. This workshop was organized by the “zukunftsforumholz” Alpbach 2011, an annual meeting of experts who discuss a specific issue related to the forest-based industries. As wood is closely connected to people´s lives, any societal change and challenge has an impact on the wood industries. It is up to the wood industries to realize such challenges and to react with an innovation.
