On 24.04.2026 the ‘Long Night of Research’ took, as every two years, place again. This is the largest event in Austria for science, research and innovation, addressing people of all ages. 

3,000 program items were offered across all federal states and the Institute of Soil-Bioengineering and Landscape Construction (IBLB) had the honor of being able to design a hands-on station.

For this purpose, the research team focused on the question ‘How can Green-Blue Infrastructures contribute to rainwater management?’ at the BOKU location Türkenschanze from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Posters and small participatory activities made the knowledge content tangible for interested parties. 

We hope that the ‘Long Night of Research’ was just as exciting for the visitors as it was for us, and that we will again meet numerous science professionals as well as young and old explorers on site the year after next - according to the motto: ‘Even more exciting, surprising and astonishing!’
