Awards for Bettina Lier and Thomas Teufl
The Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research granted two BOKU Students awards for the best Master degrees. Bettina Lier wrote her Masterproject at the Institute of Molecular Modeling and Simulation, and Thomas Teufl wrote his at the Institute of Food Technology. Guest professor Annan Zhou

Professor Annan Zhou from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) will visit BOKU from the 9th-20th December, 2019 and teach the courses 873014 Thermo-hydro-mechanical coupled behaviour of soils and 873015 Numerical simulation of soil-atmosphere subjected to global climate change. You are warmly welcome to take part in his lectures!

"Artificial Intelligence in the Age of Terrorism: A Tipping Point for Constitutional Law"
Prof. Arianna Vedaschi, Bocconi University, will be giving a lecture on "Artificial Intelligence in the Age of Terrorism: A Tipping Point for Constitutional Law" as part of the LunchTimeSeries on Law, Technology and Society (LTS). The lecture will take place at Guttenberghaus (Ground floor, Seminar Room SR 02) on 13 December 2019 from 12.00 - 1.30 pm. The event is open to all and participation is free of charge. VSC 4: 8m € computing power for research
The VSC 4 supercomputer, which opened on 2 December 2019, is one of the world's top 100 computers. The Vienna Scientific Cluster (VSC), a successful model of inter-university cooperation, is now in its fourth round and also enables BOKU scientists to use a world-class supercomputer.
