Objectives:
Navigating intercultural interactions on campus – with students and colleagues – can present unique challenges and opportunities. This workshop is your compass to understanding and excelling in diverse academic environments. The goal is to provide participants with enhanced cultural sensitivity and (self-)awareness and practical tools to develop positive intercultural relationships, both face-to-face and online.
Content:
Participants develop new perspectives and a new understanding of working in intercultural settings
Participants develop an understanding of the dimensions of intercultural competence and can transfer this to intercultural contexts they work in
Participants practice navigating cultural differences and interpreting possible cultural causes for misunderstandings in their own environment
Promoting an Inclusive Campus Environment
Methods:
Working on topics in (small) groups, critical reflection and critical incident analysis, community-building activities, buddy coaching, and role play/simulation.
Maximum group size: 12 Participants
This training takes place online via ZOOM.
