Sustainable Design and Construction 25/26
20 students.
1 big challenge.
5 teams.
The semester started with a hands-on workshop on refugee shelters, where we discussed needs, contexts, and real-world constraints. The students then split into five groups, each defining its own boundary conditions. The outcome? Five completely different shelter concepts. This was a great reminder that constraints truly do spark creativity.
Just before the winter break, the design concepts were presented under almost arctic conditions. Since then, the focus has shifted from ideas to impact:
calculating ecological footprints, transport requirements, life-cycle performance, and reuse potential over time.
Final presentations we’re held in the last week of January and we are truly proud of the great projects.
