On April 23, BOKU hosted a hands-on BIM–CAM workshop as part of the Sys.Wood research project.

Participating industry partners included:

  • O.K. Energie Haus GmbH
  • Nussmüller Architekten ZT GmbH
  • Woodplan GmbH

Also present: representatives from A-Null (Archicad) and cadwork.

Workshop Goal:
To walk through the end-to-end digital workflow using a building model derived from Work Package 4 of the Sys.Wood project.

The session was structured around a detailed questionnaire with 115 items, currently under evaluation. The event concluded with a productive discussion round, offering valuable insight into planning realities.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Deepened understanding of planning workflows
  • Identification of common bottlenecks
  • Documentation of best practices and suggestions for improvement

Next Step:
Manufacturing a real-world element as a best-practice demonstrator for fully digital process chains in timber construction.
