As part of the KRAISBAU research project, IGCE is conducting an extensive laboratory testing campaign on brick specimens.

The objective is to compare destructive laboratory tests with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, validate NDT approaches, and generate reliable material data for assessing the existing building stock.

After extracting samples from existing buildings and cutting them to testing dimensions, the bricks required perfectly plane loading surfaces. To efficiently prepare a total of 120 specimens with high precision, a custom mould was developed, enabling the simultaneous preparation of 60 bricks.
