Studieninfotage
As part of the BOKU Studieninfotag on March 27, the Institute of Green Civil Engineering (IGCE) welcomed prospective students to its laboratory during the guided tours across the Türkenschanze campus.
The event provided visitors with the opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the institute’s research activities, laboratory infrastructure, and teaching programs. During the laboratory tour, participants learned about current research on resource-efficient construction, experimental testing methods, sustainable building systems, and innovative approaches to reducing material consumption in the construction sector.
In addition to presenting ongoing research projects, the IGCE team introduced the diverse educational opportunities offered through the institute and discussed potential pathways from undergraduate studies to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral research projects.
The institute would like to sincerely thank Roman, Sara, Finja, Magdalena, and Lucia for representing IGCE throughout the event and for engaging with prospective students by sharing their experiences and answering numerous questions.
A special thank you also goes to everyone who visited the laboratory and showed interest in our research and teaching activities. The enthusiastic discussions and curiosity of the participants contributed significantly to the success of the event.
We look forward to welcoming many of these future students back to BOKU in the coming semesters—whether in our lectures, during laboratory courses, or as part of future bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral research projects.
The challenges facing the construction industry require innovative and resource-conscious solutions. We are excited to support and educate the next generation of engineers who will help shape a more sustainable built environment.
