Four researchers from the IGCE, together with colleagues from the Institute of Structural Engineering (KOIN), participated in the 7th fib Congress in Lisbon, one of the leading international conferences in the field of concrete structures and structural engineering.

In addition to presenting their latest research findings, IGCE actively contributed to the scientific programme of the congress. Peter Gappmaier and Mathias Hammerl organized the special session "Automated and Sustainable Concrete Construction – Bridging Research and Industry."

The session brought together internationally recognized researchers and industry experts to discuss current developments and future perspectives in automated construction, digitalization, sustainability, and structural engineering. The invited presentations highlighted innovative approaches that bridge scientific research with practical applications in the construction industry.

We would like to thank all speakers and participants for their valuable contributions, including researchers from TU Graz, the University of Stuttgart, Queen's University, and BOKU University. The lively discussions demonstrated the importance of interdisciplinary and international collaboration in addressing the challenges facing the construction sector.

The fib Congress once again provided an excellent platform for scientific exchange, networking, and the development of future research collaborations. We are proud that IGCE was able not only to present its research but also to contribute to shaping the scientific programme of this internationally renowned conference.
