As part of a team-building activity, the IGCE recently participated in the Community Cooking initiative organized by Caritas at the Ankerbrotfabrik in Vienna.

The event provided an opportunity to strengthen team spirit while contributing to a meaningful social cause. Together, the IGCE team prepared a complete meal for approximately 120 people. The menu included summer vegetables with tomatoes and rice, followed by homemade apple crumble cake.

Throughout the day, teamwork played a central role. From food preparation to serving and cleaning up, all participants contributed to the successful completion of the event. Even an unexpected challenge—a broken dishwasher—was overcome through collective effort, with everyone working side by side to ensure that all tasks were completed.

In addition to supporting the Community Cooking initiative, the day also provided a memorable moment outside the kitchen. A goldfish that had been left behind at the venue was rescued and relocated to a new home in a garden pond, where it can continue to thrive.

The IGCE would like to thank Caritas for the opportunity to participate in this initiative and all team members for their enthusiasm and commitment. The event demonstrated how collaborative action can strengthen communities while fostering connections within our own team.
